Update

28/04/17

Bank holiday weekend again ..??!!.. Not that it means too much to racing people as business as usual for all ! Peterhouse ran a blinder finishing third beaten just under two lengths and had he not been ring rusty and had a run under his belt I firmly believe he would have been a lot closer ! Ben Curtis was not too hard on him ( with the whip) once beaten and was more than pleased with the run . Pete has a date at Thirsk in two weeks time and I fully expect another big run ! He has been out today for a gentle leg stretch and a nice pick of grass . A quick dash from Beverley to Thornton Le Dale saw my son Harry star in Flixton winning their cup final 5-2 and of course I am bias but Harry is a game changer .. He scored the opener after five minutes made the second and it was all over after fifteen mins ! My son has the added incentive of " daddy" paying a fiver each time he scores which I upped to a tenner for the final !! He once scored seven times .. Much to the amusement of the other dads !! Our newest recruit .. kylacchy filly seems to be settling in just nicely and looked a picture this morning hacking up the three furlong gallop . A very pretty girl who is a pleasure to work with and eats all that I put in front of her . Ypres suddenly looks like a racehorse again and has almost dropped the wooly bear impression ! Watch this space as I foresee the " Stu" of old this season ! Heavenly Gait has been doing lots of pole work and has been popping over the tyres on the low moor gallops schooling grounds . All being well one of the top jump boys is joining us next week to put her through her paces . Stretewise may go to Beverley on Monday or Redcar on Thursday .. She is bouncing and I fully expect my girl to deliver . All " my steeds" are in fine fettle my feed bill is through the roof so bring it on !!! Work morning beckons so time to hit the hay as it will soon be half four a m again !! A full rundown of each horse tomorrow evening ..
