Update

2/6/17

Bay Station needed her first run for us and will certainly come on for the race .. She flew the traps showed blistering speed then eased as she tired but connections are more than pleased . Ypres returned from an eight month lay off last evening at Newcastle and he too flew the traps and was bang there before being eased as he tired .. P J McDonald s first words to me were .." Bloody hell I thought I was going to win a furlong out " .. Stu is fine today and back to his happy miserable self !! I believe the chunks out of my arm are his way of saying .. It s good to be back ! Heavenly Gait runs at Hexham tomorrow in the first and whilst the nation s eyes might well be fixed on Epsom mine will be on the north east of England . Fin schooled her this morning and was very pleased he also said what I have said a hundred times .. She gallops too well and may just surprise a few people ! Fingers crossed . Roll On Rory and Embers Glow had a change of scenery this morning and headed to the " high moor" where both were put through their paces and pleased onlookers with their work . Rory may head to Haydock next Saturday and back over a mile I await with anticipation! He looks fantastic and chased our new lad James out of his stable not once but twice last evening .. That s how we want him ! Not sure Jim would agree ! I must also welcome new boy and soon to be our apprentice Adam who has been with us now for a few weeks . He came through the Newmarket apprentice school with flying colours has some experience with a couple of trainers based in HQ and could get his license out before the season is out . A nice enough lad for a southerner!! Stretewise is over her lumps and bumps and back cantering in earnest.. She has put weight on and her little break has done her no harm whatsoever. Gloria ( Showcasing filly) has grown soooo much ! You would not recognise her from the little grey filly that arrived at the beginning of winter . She is not being rushed does all that is asked of her and is very pleasing on the eye . Pasty has is going through yet another growth spurt and he too is twice the animal that arrived . He is a big boy all of a sudden has some very fancy entries and at present is living in the Dante Stable . A hard act to follow perhaps but we do like him and don t want to push him as he continues to mature . Bushy ( Monte Cinq) is back in the main yard and is cantering once again .. He looks a picture and has revelled in the warmth and sunny days . Can t wait to see him back on the track and in full swing .. People do not realise how unlucky he was at times with little niggles after early promise in The Brockelsby finishing third to The Last Lion ( group one winner ) finally hacking up in his maiden and running some cracking races in defeat in some hot class two s . Peterhouse has been enjoying himself schooling over poles and hurdles and seems a natural ..!!.. He may have a date at Market Rasen which I believe may just be his game . Never Say did not make the cut today may well not get in on Monday so we are looking at Thursday or Friday next week .. She is not very big but loves her work and has finally got a summer coat ! The big Power filly has some stride on her I can tell you .. Still no serious buttons have been pressed with her and the world is her oyster . The " brothers grim " own her and have fended off all interest as yet ! The Kylacchy filly has certainly got some engine room for a two, year old and could be a big girl once she grows into it ! A worrying time also on a more serious note as the herpes virus has closed several yards not a million miles from Middleham . We are taking every precaution necessary and monitoring news updates .
