We have the best statitistics in Middleham this year, with a massive 67% strike rate with 2yr olds and an overall win strike rate of 18%. This is a massive achievement for a small yard, proving that tlc, individualised care and training regimes really can make a difference to a horse. We have proved that we are very versatile. The mighty Maifalki does it again


'Falco' did us all proud today and showed what a massive heart he has when reeling in the long time leader to win by a neck. He stepped up in trip today but this never looked a problem for him under a fine ride from Richard Kingscote. He also won best turned out whih is a big credit to our yard and staff. Delayed update


Wee Jim ran another fantastic race at Ayr last week to make it 2 wins from 3 runs! The sky is the limit for this lovely 2 yr old, he took it all in his stride at Ayr and showed what a great attitude he has to battle and win by a short head. Wee Jim storms home at Musselburgh


Wee Jim ran a fantastic race at Musselburgh yesterday under a great ride from Connor Murtagh. He pulled hard early on but still had plenty left in the tank to be the last of the bridle and win readily by 1 3/4 lengths. Maifalki delivers the perfect present


Maifalki showed what a big brave horse he is, he battled back when headed in the feature race at Beverley today under a great ride from Harrison Shaw. He's been ultra consistent since joining us at the end of last year and has been in the money on 7 of his last 8 outings, winning twice! Shakour runs a monstrous race in the Dee Stakes


After his win at Beverley 2 weeks ago for his Beverley based owner, Shak ran a fantastic race at Chester today in the Dee Stakes (listed race). He was 4th beaten a neck for 3rd under a great ride from Ben Curtis. Maifalki romps home at Hamilton

Shak Rattles home


One of our 'new kids on the block' Shakour put in a fine performance on his debut for us yesterday to win by 1 1/2 lengths, running on. Purchased from John Gosden in the February sale at Newmarket he is looking like quite a shrewd buy. Meerpat ran a blinder yesterday to be beaten a head by the odds on favourite. She has the heart of a lion and deserved to win. There was nothing to choose between them coming up the home straight and certainly not the gap that the betting suggested!!! It's another mighty cold one in Middleham today! We saw a few inches of snow fall in the early hours of yesterday morning and it quite literally brought Middleham to a halt. The temperatures barely got above freezing yesterday and it's looking like more snow today, looks like the white stuff will be hanging around for a while longer. It was with a weary head that we entered the yard this morning, after a very late return from Wolverhampton. Maifalki ran in the 1m2f race and was slightly dissapointing after his promising run there a couple weeks ago. Long overdue update


Sorry it has taken me so long to update the website, we've been so busy here with the sales, new horses and yearlings to break! 

We have some lovely new horses to go to war with next year, some are yearlings and others are more experienced, highly rated horses. Exciting times ahead as we have fresh faces over the stable doors and new prospects for the coming season.


Rowley Mile success

Had a good day at tattersalls last Thursday. Both Peterhouse and Ember's Glow looked amazing. So many people commented on how well they looked, we had a lot of interest in them both. Had a lovely message from a family who now own our ex racer, Heavenly Gait. It's great that these horses can go on and have a new career once their racing days are over. A teenage girl now owns and rides her and has already fallen in love with this lovely mare.

Unfortunately the rain came and spoilt Pete's chances today. We can't even watch the replay as todays storms caused an interruption to our sky signal and we lost the crucial 10 minutes surrounding our race! Monte Cinq runs in the 4.10pm race under Kevin Stott, Ypres and Bay station run in the 5.45pm race under Kevin Stott and Clifford Lee respectively.

Hoping for big runs from all of them as the turf season is tailing off now as we draw into October.

Embers glows


He may just have blown his handicap mark on ground he does not like and in a hot little race .. Embers finished an easy second yesterday at Redcar . We are delighted and relieved as we always knew he was capable ! Options abound for him now . Monte came through his comeback race in fine fettle and finished a very pleasing fifth in what can only be described as heavy ground ! It s never straight forward in our game .. As always when we have a runner lads in the yard wives mothers and my good self huddle in front of the TV and tune into the racing channel . Phew the end of another busy week at The Dante Yard and it really is all systems go for the following couple of weeks ! A Kylacchy filly joined the team at five p m today . She is in quarantine for now until we are happy that she is healthy before entering the main yard . Turf racing begins


April fools day has passed me by in a blur as I soaked up the racing on TV as Ryan Moore showed us just how good he is .. !! Nice to see Neil Farley win the Brockelsby very pleased for him . We are certainly not making any excuses as we are more than happy with Peterhouse s run today .. A red hot race that was possibly a little too far and too soft saw "us" jump travel and finish a safe and very creditable seventh . Another yearling joins the ranks !! A PastoralPursuits colt was purchased privately yesterday and we look forward to his pending arrival .
