Rory rolls on

Hi Pete it's me Tim !! ... What a weekend we have had at team Ward.. Saturday saw Peterhouse run at Ripon once again running a cracking race finishing second . Some would say I am quick to criticize jockeys though I have to say that the jockey on the winner rode a fantastic race ! Peterhouse looked amazing and he may go again soon and there has even been talk of schooling him!! A very early start saw the horse box depart from the Dante yard around six a m with monte cinq and Roll on Rory settling in for the four hour trip to Musselborough . Monte ran ok finishing seventh though I don t think he liked the tongue tie and we shall also have him scoped just to make sure there are no problems . Graham Lee rode Monte and an hour and a half later he climbed aboard Rory . He had been written off in certain parts of the media though having only been beaten three lengths at Doncaster and having had a questionable ride ( was that diplomatic enough Pete ?)we really fancied him back to a class four . Giving weight to all was a slight concern .. Though we should not have worried as Graham bustled Rory to the front got the rail and away we sailed into the sunset and only Rory s tail was viewed from behind !! A superb ride from an excellent jockey saw owners trainer and whatever my role is erupt into applause and silly smiles !! I must thank the guys for their patience and backing .. And the several black labels I sampled ! I would also like to mention the brilliant Edinburgh race crowd who are very enthusiastic and welcomed Rory into the winners enclosure with cheers and applause .. We were very much looked after and a big thank you to Musselborough for their hospitality . The smoked salmon and champagne were received with great pleasure !!
